Waypoint works with recycling companies that are ISO Certified to dispose of removed lighting materials. We make absolutely sure that removed lamps and fixtures containing mercury, PCBs and other hazardous materials are disposed of properly so they never end up in a landfill. Additionally, we make sure that retired fixtures and lighting components are not resold into the grey market where they are often sold as new to unsuspecting consumers where they continue to waste energy.
Your Sustainability Goals
Waypoint Lighting has had a direct impact on our customers' environmental sustainability goals by permanently reducing more than 600,000 lbs of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Lighting improvements achieved through a retrofit project can provide the quickest and largest reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in addition to the dramatic reduction in energy use. Decreased emissions resulting from the new lighting system will persist as long as the system is in place which may be up to 40 years. Energy cost savings can be the primary driver of a retrofit lighting project but greenhouse gas reduction can be the benefit that secures the support of corporate leadership and even the local community.
